Jomtien Beach

Pattaya's longest beach — a wide, relaxed strip of sand south of the city that's better for swimming, sunbathing and watersports than the busier city beach.

🏖️ Tourists 🧳 Expats & Nomads Updated June 2026

If Pattaya Beach is the city’s busy front, Jomtien Beach is where it stretches out and exhales. Running for several kilometres south of the headland, it’s the longest beach in the area and the one most locals point you to for an actual beach day.

What it’s like

The northern end, near Dongtan, is leafier and calmer; the central stretch buzzes with sunbeds, watersports and beachfront seafood; the far south thins out into quieter sand fronted by condo towers. Because it’s so long, your experience depends entirely on where you set up — so it’s worth choosing your access point.

Good to know

It’s a great spot for walking, jogging, swimming and lazy afternoons, with cheap grilled seafood never far away. Expect the usual sunbed and vendor activity on the busy parts, and note that sea conditions and water cleanliness vary by season — worth checking locally before you swim.

Good for

  • Long beach walks and jogging
  • Families and relaxed sunbathing
  • Watersports and beachfront seafood

Watch out for

  • It's long and spread out — pick your access point
  • Vendors and sunbed touts along the busier stretches
  • Sea conditions and cleanliness vary by season ⟨VERIFY⟩
